Sherry and her mother Doris were enjoying peach ice-cream when I approached them for a photograph at the Peach Festival in Weatherford, Texas. Doris was raised in Milsap, a farming community just west of Weatherford. She told me that in 1940 her family sold regular size peaches for 50 cents a bushel. For large peaches, they got $2.50 a bushel.
Sherry and her husband travel the world, going to rock concerts. One of their favorites is Paul McCartney. Sherry has met Sir Paul several times, including private concerts and social gatherings.
