Very Special People.

Last week, in Des Moines, Iowa, a caravan of buses carried dozens of World War II veterans to visit the WWII memorial in Washington, D.C.   My own father was a veteran of that war, and later an Air Force officer; and were he still alive he would have been proud, deeply proud, to see the tribute being paid to these very special people.

The U.S. Veterans Administration estimates that 1,100 World War II veterans die each day.  Soon, these old warriors will be gone, and the next generation will ask us, in amazement, “Did you really know someone from that war?”

Please let us know what you think about what we see.
