When I met Chris in Elk Horn, Iowa, he was painting a mural depicting all the uniforms of American soldiers from the Revolutionary War to today.  Chris has a strong interest in history.  He has lived in Texas, Oklahoma and now in Iowa.

Elk Horn is in Shelby County, Iowa.  Population 650 folks.  It is one of the two Iowa “Danish Villages”– so named because many of their residents are of Danish descent.  The other Danish Village is Kimballton, just a few miles north of Elk Horn.
