If you ever had Post Toasties (or other cereal of the C.W. Post Ceral Company) for breakfast, then you have come in contact with a bit of utopia. OK, that is an exagerration. In 1907, Mr. Post, of ceral fame, founded Post City, in Garza County, Texas, with the intention of creating a utopian community. Such ideas never achieve their goal, and neither did this one. Still, it was good try, and today, Post, Texas, sitting in the shadow of the West Texas caprock, is a fine town. There is an old saying, “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.”
This photo shows a store in Post, Texas, where, yes indeed neighbor, you can buy your cowboy gear.
