Even in a state as big as Texas, it isn’t often you see vintage airplanes parked near a road. These are part of the Pate Museum of Transportation on Highway 377, just south of Cresson, Texas. The Pate Museum is a little known repository of antique vehicles of all kinds. It has been open since the 1960s, but how much longer it will stay open is, well, open to question. I read online that the museum was closing, and its holdings were to have been auctioned off this past June. Even so, these aircraft (and boat) were still on display when I stopped to take photos this past weekend.
