This evening in North Texas, winds whipped up and dark clouds blew in, and for a few minutes we thought that maybe, just maybe, our long hot summer with its weeks-long streak of 100+ days was ending at last. We were ready to dance in the rain. Alas, it wasn’t to be. Nary a drop fell, and we are expecting 100+ days through next Monday. Right now the sky is mostly clear. 84 (F).
After most of the clouds cleared, this billowy sight appeared in the western sky. I was fascinated by the seeming shadow, the ghostly effect radiating above the cloud.
