This Easter weekend Dallas, Texas, had its annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival. Deep Ellum is an historic neighborhood just north of downtown. At one time, Deep Ellum was home to a mostly African-American population, but over the years, the demographics have become more diverse. Nowdays, Deep Ellum is known mostly for live music and arts. The annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival is a street scene covering several blocks along Elm Street. You will see the usual array of live bands, art booths, fast foods and plenty of beer. I spent some time this evening walking the length of the festival, and photographing whomever looked interesting. I did not get any names or stories but, as always in these festivals, sights and sounds count more than stories.
