46th anniversary.

It doesn’t seem possible.  Almost half a century ago, President John Kennedy was killed in Dallas, Texas.  I was only 8 yrs old at the time, but like millions of others, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news.  These photos were taken in 2003 at the 40th anniversary.   The last photo shows feet standing on an X that marks the spot where the president’s car was at the moment the first shot was fired.

About admin

Born in Ohio, raised in Texas, and spent time in parts between. I enjoy exploring precincts near and far. I took all the photographs in this website, although most of them I took earlier than the date posted. If anyone browsing this site is encouraged to further explore their own backyard or beyond, that’s good enough for me.

When I think of those rare moments in time that overwhelm an entire nation with shock and grief on an epic scale, Pearl Harbor and 9/11 come to mind, but JFK’s assassination ranks right alongside those unfortunate events. I was not even alive when it happened and I’m still feeling the reverberation. I took some pics there a few years ago. I may post them on my blog sometime today…
