About William Holmes.

Born in Ohio, raised in Texas, and spending time in parts between, I enjoy exploring precincts near and far.   Unless otherwise noted, I took all the photographs appearing on this website, although I took most of them earlier than the date posted.

  1. I am very happy to see your blog. I love the Metroplex and Texas. I would like to know if I may put your blog in my list of links. My husband and I have a blog called Stitchntravel. I do hand embroidery and love finding it in some of the most interesting places. I found your blog while looking at information about Cleburne State Park.

  2. Howdy Mr. Holmes.
Great photo’s. You have produced the ONLY good picture ever made of myself in uniform.

  3. William.
My wife and I met you at the Jazz Age Social a few weeks ago and I mentioned to you about the Memorial Day Parade our neighborhood has each year. We would love to invite you to this year’s parade. I know you would get some great pictures. It is a great neighborhood event with several hundred people participating. It will be held on Monday, May 27th. We meet on the east side of Spring Creek Elementary School in north Dallas. The address is 7667 Roundrock, Dallas, TX 75248. People start gathering about 9:00 and the parade starts at 10:00. We have a short program after the parade and then we have the “family picnic” where we serve hot dogs and drinks, have bounce houses and games and other activities. I think you would find the entire event a lot of fun and very much worth photographing. Please let me know if you are interested in attending this year. I would be happy to supply you with more details.
    Many Thanks,
    Gary McFarland
